Within the context of a client/family centered culture and under general supervision performs clerical work related to patient admissions and switchboard operation. Duties include receiving and interviewing patients, referring patients to Emergency nurse for immediate assessment based on established guidelines, completing and processing admitting records, contacting personnel for relevant information, and entering data into a computerized system. Operates the switchboard, locating personnel through the use of pagers, answering services and the public address system, and responding to emergencies according to established procedures.
