PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Our defined benefit and defined contribution pension plans play a vital role in providing financial security for employees and beneficiaries and are a key driver in attracting and retaining top talent at CPKC. The Canadian defined benefit plan, with assets exceeding $14 billion, is one of Canada’s oldest and largest corporate pension plans.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Review financial reporting of pension and other post‑retirement benefit plans for external financial statements
- Develop actuarial assumptions and conduct experience studies
- Document and explain internal control processes as required for SOX compliance
- Complete government filings and ensure compliance with pension legislation in Canada and the U.S.
