Position Summary

As part of the AJISS Coastal Support team, the Technical Specification Writer supports the Royal Canadian Navy Arctic and Offshore Patrol Vessels (AOPV) and Joint Support Ship (JSS) class vessels managed by Thales under the AOPS & JSS In‑Service Support contract. Accountable to the Resource Manager – Coastal Support and responsive to the Coastal Engineering Services Manager, the writer develops specifications and Statements of Work (SOWs) for corrective maintenance of various systems and equipment, ensuring Class Society and objective quality evidence requirements are captured. The role frequently liaises with ship staff, Fleet Maintenance Facilities (FMF) work centers, and other stakeholders.
