The Media Policy ad Content (MPC) group in IMDA ensures that media content policies and regulations are updated and remain relevant with changing media consumption patterns and advances in digital tech, and reflects societal values, maintains social cohesion and upholds public interest. Broadly, the MPC group comprises the Strategic Policy & Operations Cluster and Content & Standards Responsibilities: Devise and implement new measures to further strengthen and safeguard our telecommunication and media channels against scammers Put up proposals and administer grants or other programs to support the industry build up capabilities to detect and disable scams Engage the industry to explore new ways and technology to help clamp down on scam Undertake robust and deep analysis of policy and regulatory issues involving scams in the telecom and media sectors in the short to medium term.
