Athletic Therapist/Orthopedic Therapist

Position Overview

This role involves providing orthopedic cast and splint services under physician direction, including plaster and fiberglass cast application, removal, adjustments, and dispensing orthopaedic braces and support devices. The candidate will also conduct biomechanical assessments, educate patients on rehabilitation and reconditioning, and collaborate with the medical team to ensure effective treatment.

Technical Skills

• Demonstrates cooperation by offering assistance to other Minor Injury Clinic Staff.
• Applies plaster and fiberglass casts under the direction of the Physician.
• Removes, adjusts and trims plaster and fiberglass casts as directed by the Physician.
• Makes plaster and fiberglass splints as required.
• Applies bandages and slings as required.
• Removes sutures, staples and pins related to external fixation as directed by the Orthopaedic Surgeon.
