Our Telecommunications group is currently looking to add Cable Installation Technicians to our growing team, based in Winnipeg, MB and Sault St. Marie, ON.
Reporting to the Project Manager, these positions are responsible for the installation of fiber optic cable on aerial and underground telecommunications infrastructure. They perform fiber installation on wood poles and within underground duct systems, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Aerial Fiber Installation on wood poles, including Steel strand installation, Guy wires and anchors, Cable lashing and related hardware
- Operate bucket trucks and perform pole climbing when required
- Read and interpret construction drawings and work plans
- Ensure proper tensioning, clearance, and alignment of aerial fiber infrastructure
