Overview
***This position will be physically located in The Marshall Islands in support of LOGCAP***
Under the direction of the Port Captain, the Licensed Mariner I is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the U.S. Army LCM's and Ferry, or Catamaran Class vessels. The vessel transit are near coastal areas within Kwajalein Atoll waters, which are designated as international waters for maritime regulatory purposes; Operates and maintains the assigned vessel and barges; Operates vessel with due regards to on time departures and safe navigation; Maintains log book and all associated vessel paperwork and certifications; Determines parts, supplies, and material requirements for job accomplishment; Supervises a crew of up to three people: an engineman and two deck hands; Conducts on the job-training of assigned personnel as required; Oversees the preventive maintenance program in conjunction with the Engineer or Engineman; Maintains vessel charts and maritime pub...
