I. BASIC PURPOSE / JOB BRIEF:
The Commis is responsible for assisting in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food items, ensuring that high standards of hygiene, quality, and safety are maintained in the kitchen.
II. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Assists in the preparation of ingredients, including washing, peeling, chopping, and slicing vegetables, fruits, and other food items.
- Assists with receiving and storing deliveries by checking the quality of all items and ensuring they are stored properly. Additionally, inspect stock, rotate inventory, and monitor expiration dates.
- Prepares basic dishes under supervision to maintain consistent taste and presentation.
- Ensures that all food is cooked to the specified standards and served at the appropriate temperature.
- Maintains cleanliness and sanitation in the workplace for hygiene and safety measures.
