Consultant - Ophthalmology

Performs the professional duties of an ophthalmologist.

• Performs complete eye examination assessment and determines and/or implements the course of treatment.
• Performs elective and emergency surgery as expected within the scope of a specialist ophthalmologist.
• Monitors the eye care rendered on a daily basis to ensure that Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospital standards are met.
• Keeps informed as to current developments in the field of ophthalmology.
• Coordinates with the Medical Administrator in planning programs integrating curative and preventive aspects of total patient care.
• Participates in the implementation of approved curative preventive programs as they relate to ophthalmology.
• Oversees, monitors, and participates in QA programs as requested by the Quality Office.
