Data Center Technician

Read and interpret various types of build documents to assemble servers and switches into IT data racks. Install Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, and fiber optic cables utilizing industry standards and best practices. Conduct installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance procedures. Maintain data center system documentation. Perform cabling, racking, and server installations. Communicate and operate with internal and external staff. Provide training and support to other staff regarding repair techniques and procedures. Maintain a clean work area.

• Data cabinet building tasks, including rack integration and server cabinet builds.


• Work with CAT5 and CAT6 cabling.


• Pull and lace cables, test each of the cabinet units, and diagnose cabinets before shipment.
