Doctoral Researcher Position, Molecular Plant Biology

University of Turku, Department of Life Technologies, Finland. The PhD focuses on extracellular electron exchange between photosynthetic and non‑photosynthetic microorganisms, exploring molecular mechanisms, regulation, and potential biotechnological applications. The position is funded by Wey’s Emerging Investigator grant from the Novo Nordisk Foundation.

Responsibilities

  • Design, conduct, and analyze experiments on extracellular electron exchange and related cellular processes.
  • Independently develop and execute research projects within the Wey Group on bioelectricity in photosynthetic organisms.
  • Write reports, publish research papers, and present findings at conferences and seminars.
  • Collaborate with group members and external partners; support training of students.
