DOG TRAINER

Responsibilities

Assess dogs temperaments and behavioral issues to develop tailored training plans ensuring effective and safe learning environments. Implement positive reinforcement techniques such as rewards and praise to motivate dogs and foster a strong bond during training sessions. Teach basic obedience commands – sit, stay, come, etc. – and advanced skills, adapting methods to suit individual dog and owner needs. Address and correct problem behaviors such as excessive barking, biting, separation anxiety through specialized training programs.

Qualifications

A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with a preference for candidates with a degree in animal behavior or a related field. Possess a professional dog training certification (e.g., CPDT‑KA, Karen Pryor Academy Certified Trainer) or equivalent.
