Responsibilities
Design Oversight & Technical Authority• Serve as the Asset Design technical authority for Downtown Underground (DTUG) / distribution network design, with primary accountability for complex urban underground distribution design solutions.
• Oversee concept, preliminary, and detailed network design development performed internally or by Contract Engineering Partners (CEPs), ensuring alignment with system requirements, constructability expectations, and municipal or jurisdictional constraints.
• Ensure DTUG and network designs meet Duke Energy standards, NESC requirements, safety expectations, and long-term operational needs throughout the design lifecycle.
• Provide additional design oversight and technical support for Feeder Hardening (FH), Lateral Hardening Overhead (LHO), Overhead-to-Underground (UG) conversions, and highway relocation projects as assigned.SPP / SO Program Execution Support
