Measures, prepares & installs various types of tiles (ceramic, marble, slate & glass) on interior & exterior surfaces
Responsible for surface preparation, cutting tiles, creating mortar beds, laying tiles in specific patterns, & applying grout for a flawless, waterproof & durable finish.
Core Responsibilities- Surface Preparation: Clean, level & waterproof surfaces like concrete or plywood before laying tiles.
- Layout & Planning: Measure areas, estimate material requirements & follow blueprints or design specifications to determine layout.
- Cutting & Shaping: Use manual tile cutters & bench-mounted power tools to cut tiles for tight corners, edges & around fixtures.
- Installation: Mix & spread adhesives (mortar, cement, or glue), press tiles into place, & align them perfectly using straightedges & levels.
