Applicants require recent direct contact with the criminal justice system

The peer support worker (PSW) will work as an integral part of the Derbyshire Forensic Community mental health Team. The PSW will work with individuals to provide peer support and practical assistance to allow service users to participate in their own unique recovery journey for service users with complex needs who have been in contact with the criminal justice system and mental health services to receive enhanced support through appropriate diversion pathways.

Main duties of the job

To work with and develop supportive relationships with service receivers

To support individuals to identify their own achievable and meaningful recovery goals and set recovery objectives, using a range of recovery tools, techniques and lived experiences

To share own recovery story to provide hope, self belief and self awareness and inspire and instil confidence in peers
