Functional Safety Systems Engineer – 56480 Basildon (Essex) (4 days onsite, 1 remote) £29.59/hr rising to £38.38/hr after 12 weeks (Inside IR35)  
Join a globally recognised automotive OEM’s R&D centre in Essex, working at the forefront of next-generation vehicle technology. 
This role sits within a core product development team, supporting the safe delivery of complex systems across powertrain, infotainment and advanced driver features, using MBSE/SysML and aligned to ISO 26262. 
Key Responsibilities Deliver functional safety activities in line with ISO 26262 
Model systems, interfaces and behaviours using MBSE/SysML 
Support development of safety concepts and system design 
Produce technical documentation for audits and programme milestones 
Work cross-functionally with engineering, quality and manufacturing teams 
Drive safety by design across advanced technologies
