Histology Technician (Hiring Immediately)

BRIEF SUMMARY : The Histology Technician works in the Pathology Department under the direction of the Pathologist and Director of Laboratory. Participates in the histology laboratory's preparation and staining of the tissue sections from surgical tissue or body fluids for microscopic study and interpretation by the pathologist.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

1. Responsible for conducting technical functions within the Histology Lab.

1. Performs work and priorities with Pathologist

1. Prepares microscope slides by processing, embedding, cutting and staining surgical specimens for analysis by the pathologist.

1. Maintains equipment logs and assigned area in compliance with accreditation and regulatory agencies.

1. Responsible for inventory of supplies and inventory of tissues, blocks, slides and shipment of specimens to pathologist or sponsor.
