POSITION SUMMARY
Under the general direction of the Director, Office of I-IDEAS.
Contribute to raising and sustaining CHEO’s level of Indigenous Cultural Awareness by:
- Consulting, informing, and advising CHEO staff on matters related to growing cultural competencies to work better with Indigenous children, youth, families, communities, to ensure a culturally safe and affirming work environment and care delivery;
- Building an inventory of offerings consulting with other key community and/or internal community groups to identify, develop and deliver educational or awareness building offerings;
- Research legal obligations, Human Rights, Constitutional Rights, Jordan’s Principle and recommend ways to apply and measure compliance etc.
