Inventory Staff Accountant

Key Responsibilities:

• Support accounting for inventory consumption during operations on ships and transfers between locations, including warehouses.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and yearly close processes, including accurate reporting of inventory and reserve balances.
• Perform variance analysis and explain material differences.
• Prepare journal entries related to:
• Inventory consumption and adjustments upon voyage completion
• Inventory activity in warehouses
• Monthly accruals, cleanup, and reclassification entries
• Quarterly split voyage accruals and variance explanations
• Prepare and research account reconciliations.
• Support process improvement initiatives and make recommendations.
• Assist in preparing inventory reserve assessments.
• Ensure all deadlines for financial close and reconciliation are met.
