Janitors perform a variety of routine manual tasks that require light, medium, and heavy physical effort in the cleaning and caring for an assigned area on campus that includes academic and office buildings, athletic facilities, a student and community center, student residence halls, a health center, and the adjacent grounds and sidewalks of various buildings. Janitors work independently, and as part of a work team, performing a wide range of specialized and routine cleaning of floors, windows, trash and recycling removal, and walls. Work requires cleaning specialized areas within buildings such as; office spaces, kitchens, common areas, lounges, laundry rooms, locker rooms, bathrooms, classrooms, and laboratories.
