Your Opportunity:

Practicing within the philosophy and guidelines of the Alberta Kidney Care- South, the Kinesiologist is a collaborative member of the health care team, delivering holistic, comprehensive care, to individuals with acute/chronic kidney disease. Under the direction of the Manager, the Kinesiologist is responsible for developing and implementing evidence-based best practice in the area of exercise and healthy lifestyle promotion. This includes assessing patients for exercise capability, prescribing regular exercise regimes, and monitoring the immediate and long-term effects of the exercise prescription. The Kinesiologist collaborates with the Manager to expand the reach of exercise programming and to engage other members of the health care team in the provision of exercise in various settings.
The incumbent will be working at/or out of the Hemodialysis units in Calgary.
