Laboratory Technologist II

The Laboratory Technologist II in the North Hub Microbiology department is part of a dynamic team that provides acute care and community microbiology services for northern and central Alberta. Key aspects of this position include working in a team environment to provide technical expertise and supervision for the testing area. Your responsibilities will include coordinating day to day operations, prioritizing, monitoring and assigning work to MLT l's, providing technical advice, problem solving, and performing and guiding troubleshooting on a variety of laboratory instruments. The successful candidate will work closely with medical and front-line teams to develop and maintain protocols within the laboratory. In addition, you will participate in the technical aspects and the quality control functions of the laboratory, ensuring accreditation standards are maintained.
