Maintenance Helper

Summary This position is located in the Facilities/Maintenance Branch, Support Division, Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department, Naval Station Great Lakes, Illinois. The purpose of this position is to maintain and repair facilities and equipment, as well as facility renovations and support of special events and programs under the jurisdiction of the MWR Department. Responsibilities 85% - Under the directions of the Maintenance Leader and Maintenance Manager, incumbent performs work requiring semi-skilled knowledge in the use of basic hand tools, such as saws, screwdrivers, hammers and basic power tools for several trades. Trades consist of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, flooring, painting and snow removal. Assists in work and projects for higher grade Maintenance workers.
