Maternity Support Worker
The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a Maternity Support Worker (MSW) to support women, birthing people, and babies within our Antenatal Clinic and Community teams.
Job Responsibilities
- Work alongside registered practitioners and midwives, carrying out routine care and supportive tasks for mothers and babies.
- Provide housekeeping, administration, and personal care to service users.
- Assist with assessments of health care needs under the direction of a registered midwife.
- Support the multidisciplinary team in delivering a safe, quality, and nurturing environment.
- Advocate for patients in the absence of the midwife and promote individualized care.
- Assist in high acuity situations or when a midwife is unavailable.
Qualifications
- GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent experience
