: VIA Rail Canada Inc., a leader in passenger transportation in Canada, is currently looking for qualified Locomotive Engineers to fill positions in Thompson, Manitoba.The Locomotive Engineer is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of VIA Rail passengers and crew, enabling VIA to meet its scheduled operations and provide excellent customer service.
This designated safety-critical position entails working varying schedules, being away from home for extended periods of time, working under pressure and dealing with stressful factors all within the guidelines of the Railway Safety Act of Canada, the Canadian Railway Operating Rules as well as VIA Rail’s special instructions.
