Mechanical Engineer - Thin Film Coatings
Full‑time position in the Vacuum, Surfaces and Coatings group of the Technology Department, contributing to the Beam Screen Treatment (BST) project at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). After training, you will assemble, commission, and lead the deployment of advanced coating systems in the LHC tunnel, operating one of the world’s most complex scientific instruments.
Responsibilities
- Train and operate coating systems for depositing carbon thin films in the LHC beam lines.
- Lead a team deploying the coating process in the LHC tunnel.
- Train team members on coating system operation.
- Produce documentation for quality assurance of the coating process.
- Report to senior engineer to coordinate with other teams.
- Propose improvements to coating systems, procedures and methodologies.
