PAID FEEDBACK OPPORTUNITY

In-House Patent Counsel & Patent Committee Members ($300 for 1 hr)

Company: PatentVC

Location: Menlo Park, California, United States (Hybrid — Sand Hill Road or remote)

We’re building PatentWorth — an AI valuation layer that turns every invention disclosure and patent into a financial decision. Think of it as a “PatentWorth Score”: the instant a disclosure is submitted, our engine estimates what the underlying asset is actually worth, with a defensible value range, claim-strength scoring, citation analysis, and remaining protection — so IP teams can file faster, renew smarter, and finally prove portfolio ROI to finance.

We’re at the ground floor, and before we go further, we want to pressure-test this with the people who actually make these decisions every day.

Who we’re looking for

This is the part that matters most. We want practitioners, not just credentials:

  • In-house patent counsel — patent attorneys doing the real work, not just drafting and prosecution, but patent licensing, monetization, and portfolio strategy
  • General Counsels & Associate GCs who are involved in deciding which patents to file and when
  • Patent committee members at large companies — even if you’re not a lawyer. If you’ve helped evaluate which inventions a company should protect, we want your perspective
  • Engineers, IP managers, or strategists who currently sit on (or have sat on) invention review / patent committees
  • CFOs and finance leaders with a stake in how IP spend is justified and measured

If you’ve ever stared at a committee queue and had to prioritize disclosures with no reliable way to estimate their value — you’re exactly who we need.

What we want to learn

This isn’t a generic UX survey. We want real decision-maker perspective:

  • Would your team actually use — or pay for — a tool that scores disclosures and patents financially?
  • Who’s the real buyer: Chief Patent Counsel, the GC’s office, finance, or someone else?
  • How do you currently decide what to file, what to renew at the 3.5 / 7.5 / 11.5-year maintenance windows, and what to let lapse?
  • What would a valuation need to show before you’d trust it in front of your CFO or board?
  • Where are the gaps — what would make this indispensable vs. a nice-to-have?

What you’ll do

  • Review a live demo of PatentWorth
  • React to real valuation output: scores, value ranges, claim-strength and citation signals
  • Tell us where it’s credible, where it’s wrong, and what’s missing
  • Help us understand how filing, renewal, and budget decisions really get made inside your organization

Details

  • $100–$400/hour depending on experience and role
  • 1-hour session
  • In-person (Menlo Park / Sand Hill Road) or remote
  • This is paid feedback, not a sales call

We’re specifically looking for people who live inside these decisions today — the counsel, committee members, and finance leaders who decide what a company’s inventions are worth.

To apply

DM or comment with:

  • A short bio
  • Your role and the kind of IP decisions you’re involved in (filing, licensing, committee, renewal, budget, etc.)
  • Whether you prefer in-person or remote
