Microbiology Analyst - Western Cape

Description: The purpose of this position is to conduct the testing of samples submitted to the laboratory so that work is completed within the required turnaround times.

Job Specification

Requirements:

1. National Diploma in Biotechnology or BSC Degree in Microbiology.
2. 1-2 years’ experience in a Food microbiology laboratory.

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct simple and complex tests independently.
2. Verification of results independently and interpret data against known sources of information.
3. Improve laboratory efficiency.
4. Ensure adherence to departmental TAT’s and provide early warnings to direct supervisor of any delays on TAT.
5. Cleaning and disinfection of equipment.
6. Responsible for upkeep of laboratory instruments and notification to management of calibration and service requests.
