Personal Care Assistant

Responsibilities

• Support and/or prompt with personal care (toileting, showering/bathing, getting in and out of bed, dressing).
• Support to get to and from school/work/college/social activities.
• Assist and encourage socialisation, participating in activities.
• Promote and encourage friendships and independence.
• Develop a good and trusting one‑to‑one working relationship.
• Provide constant supervision for safety.
• Support epilepsy care (training given), sensory play, behaviour regulation and personal care (toileting, dressing).
• Monitor risks (PICA, climbing).
• Support engagement and follow care plan.

Client Profile

Young person with Lennox‑Gastaut Syndrome (complex epilepsy), autism, developmental delay. Pre‑verbal, requires constant supervision due to unpredictable seizures, PICA, sensory needs and no danger awareness.
