Postdoctoral Researcher, Space Physics and Astronomy

The Ionospheric Physics research group studies the effects of solar storms and space weather on the ionosphere‑thermosphere system using ground‑based instruments, satellite data, and advanced numerical simulations.

Responsibilities

• Apply first‑principles global numerical simulations of the near‑Earth space environment to investigate the impact of geomagnetic storms (both nominal and extreme) on the ionosphere‑thermosphere system.

• Compare simulation results with thermospheric neutral mass density variations measured by low‑Earth orbit satellites such as Swarm, GRACE, and GOCE.

• Develop and refine modeling tools, analyze data sets, and contribute to collaborative research projects with national and international partners.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Space Physics or a closely related field, completed before the application period and no more than 10 years prior. <...
