**ABOUT YOUR ROLE**
The Buyer is responsible for executing the strategies created by a Purchasing Manager. This may include planning the purchasing and scheduling of materials, services, and supplies, but normally does not include sourcing or negotiation with vendors.
**Centralized Purchasing Focus**:
This Buyer may be responsible for the process of purchasing of equipment, materials, supplies and services through the centralized Purchasing Function. This incumbent will usually execute the work established by a Corporate Purchasing Manager.
**Plant (Operations) Purchasing Focus**:
This Buyer may be responsible for the process of purchasing raw materials, supplies and services for a manufacturing function. This incumbent will usually execute the work established by the Divisional or manufacturing-focused Purchasing Manager.
