Procurement Engineer

Coordinates sourcing and purchasing efforts in order for divisional objectives to be achieved. Works closely with team to identify and implement the sourcing strategy within sourcing and purchasing teams.
Job Responsibilities
Establishes new supplier relationships that meet production purchasing and sourcing strategies
Maintains the early supplier involvement process
Processes request for quote (RFQ), analyzes cost model, provides cost comparison and recommendations
Builds a service-oriented process with suppliers and customers
Develops a procurement strategy for new product development projects and procures 1st article and prototype components
Shortens product introduction cycle through managed involvement of selected suppliers
Drives product development timelines to ensure calendar deliverables and dates are met
Ensures the demand planning for products meet volume forecasts
Maintains purchasing policy and procedure compliance
