Recreation Aid (Lifeguard)

Summary About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Outdoor Recreation, Swimming Pool at Travis Air Force Base, CA. This is a temporary position not to exceed 1 December 2026. Certification training will be provided by Outdoor Recreation. Intermittent (Flexible) employees have no guaranteed hours but may work up to 40 hours per week. Responsibilities Continuously observes swimming area to ensure safety of patrons. Ensures the swimming area is open to patrons at a scheduled times and only authorized persons are admitted to the area. Maintains order and enforces established rules of safety and behavior. Rescues swimmers in trouble, administers first aid, and calls for medical assistance if and when needed. Warns swimmers of unsafe environmental or health conditions and recommends closing swimming areas until safe conditions prevail.
