Recreation Assistant

Job Title

Part‑time Recreation Assistant – Halesowen Leisure Centre, Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council.

Working Hours

Hours: 29 hours per week on a 3‑week rotating shift pattern, covering evenings, daytime and weekends.

Shift Pattern

Three‑week cycle: Week 1 – 21 hours, Week 2 – 37 hours, Week 3 – 29 hours (details alter between evenings, daytime, weekends).

Salary

Grade 3 (Scale pay range £25,185 – £25,583 pro‑rata).

Responsibilities

• Supervise the swimming pool while on lifeguard duty.
• Assist members of the public during leisure activities.
• Set up and de‑rig leisure equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness of the centre through regular cleaning duties and maintenance schedules.
• Attend monthly staff training sessions.
• Promote quality customer service and maintain a friendly atmosphere.
