Nurse Practitioner
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a mid-level health care provider, who works collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary health team and is responsible for providing direct comprehensive care to patients and supervision of ancillary staff. The NP educates the patient, family/significant other by promoting wellness, preventing health care problems, maintaining current health status, and intervening in acute or chronic illness.
Responsibilities
- Performs a comprehensive functional assessment of the patients based on age and history.
- Included are assessing the physical and psychological status of the patient by means of interview, health history, physical/functional examination and diagnostic tests.
