Summary The Smithsonian Institution is a diverse museum and research complex dedicated to the increase and diffusion of knowledge. This position is located and the incumbent will be staffed in the Unit Control Room (UCR),Office of Protection Services (OPS) which provides physical protection of museum property and grounds, and which enforces Institution rules regarding safety and protection of staff and visitors within the Institution's boundaries. Responsibilities As a Security Guard (Control Room Operator), you will monitor the operation of electronic integrated security computer, radio communication, voice recording, fire alarm, safety, and access control systems. These systems are designed to protect all Smithsonian staff, visitors, collections and property.
