Overview
Mercer International Inc. is a diversified global producer of forest products, bioproducts, and green electricity with operations in Canada, Germany, and the United States. The Senior Accountant will join the Accounting & Finance team at Mercer Celgar and coordinate audits, capital and fixed asset accounting, and support various financial functions within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate SOX audits – internal and external
- Coordinate pension audit – includes preparation of pension statements
- Coordinate third-party assurance audits & reviews
- Prepare and oversee transactions for capital & fixed assets
- Prepare month-end journal entries, accruals, and general ledger reconciliations
- Support preparation of monthly financial statements
- Ensure compliance with internal controls in a SOX compliant environment
- Prepare and distribute scheduled and ad hoc financial reports
