Course number and title: CHMD41H3 - Physical Organic Chemistry 

Course description: This course offers an in-depth understanding of organic chemistry by systematically exploring the factors and principles that govern organic reactions. The first half of the course covers fundamentals including bonding theories (VB, MO, and HMO), kinetics, thermodynamics, transition state theory, isotope effects, and Hammett equations. In the second half, these topics are applied to the study of different types of organic reactions, such as nucleophilic substitutions, polar additions/eliminations, pericyclic reactions, and radical reactions.
