Role: Snowflake & Streaming Data Architect
Location: Toronto, ON (Onsite)
Experience: 12–15 years
Key Responsibilities:
- Design end-to-end Snowflake data model (Star/Snowflake schema, Data Vault 2.0)
- Define Kafka topic strategy, schema registry standards, and ingestion patterns
- Establish data governance, masking policies, RBAC, and tagging taxonomy
- Own solution architecture, tech stack decisions, and stakeholder alignment
- Define SLAs for data freshness, CDC patterns, and error handling.
Must-Have Skills:
- Snowflake architecture (Virtual Warehouses, Dynamic Tables, Streams, Tasks)
- Apache Kafka / Confluent Platform — topic design, Schema Registry (Avro/JSON)
- Kafka-to-Snowflake connectors (Snowflake Kafka Connector or Confluent Cloud)
- dbt Cloud for transformation layer
- Python or SQL for pipeline validation
