**Job Description:**
The apprentice role allows candidates to complete a sterile processing technician training program while learning on-the-job to develop industry-specific skills. Apprentices enrolled in the program will be integrated into the SPD team; upon successful completion of the training program the apprentice may be hired as a sterile processing technician.
This position is responsible for ensuring that all basic surgical supplies, instruments and equipment are properly inventoried, decontaminated, assembled, inspected, packaged, sterilized, stored, distributed and tracked in a quality / timely manner throughout the hospital. Will begin to train and validate competencies to allow performing these duties independently and without close supervision.
