Technician in Science

About the role

Support teaching in the School of Science as part of a collaborative technical team. Responsible for ensuring laboratories are safe, well‑maintained, and ready for teaching activities through laboratory cleaning, glassware washing, waste disposal, stock management, and upkeep of laboratory facilities and equipment. Assist with teaching‑related technical activities and provide backup support for Science Store operations, including receipt, storage, distribution, and inventory management of laboratory consumables, equipment, and teaching resources.

Full‑time (37.5 hours per week) based at Hillcrest Campus, Hamilton. Salary range $60,046 to $72,636 per year based on skills, knowledge and experience. Additional university leave and competitive superannuation guaranteed.
