Position Overview
A Traffic Technician provides preliminary planning, design and management solutions for all City transportation network, traffic safety and roadway development activities.
Responsibilities
- Evaluates traffic collision data, traffic volumes, site conditions and recommends corrective actions to improve design and safety of traffic operations and transportation networks.
- Coordinates installation activities ensuring correct application of roundabouts, traffic signals, signs, pavement markings and other traffic control devices; prepares traffic orders for installation of regulatory devices.
- Coordinates implementation of roadway geometry changes, traffic calming devices, traffic re‑routing, road and traffic lane or sidewalk closures.
