Description
The Transportation & Freight Analyst is responsible for analyzing freight and small parcel shipping rates, negotiating carrier contracts, coordinating shipments, and ensuring compliance with hazardous materials regulations. This role plays a critical part in optimizing transportation costs across parcel, LTL, and FTL while maintaining strong carrier relationships and ensuring safe, compliant movement of goods.
Key Responsibilities
Freight & Small Parcel Analysis
- Analyze shipping rates across small parcel (USPS, FedEx, UPS, DHL), LTL, and FTL to identify cost-saving opportunities
- Audit carrier invoices, accessorial charges, and surcharges
- Benchmark carrier pricing and service levels across parcel and freight modes
- Maintain rate tables, zone/weight analysis, and support RFP/bid processes
- Provide reporting on transportation spend, trends, and KPIs
