Vendor Planner

Responsibilities

• Monitor computerized reports
• Correct the materials system
• Review BOM/PPAP/Purchase contracts and scheduling
• Coordinate activities with different Materials departments
• Monitor the resolution of issues that arise in the Materials System
• Maintain frequent contact with others outside the work team
• Provide support in resolving problems with suppliers and scheduling
• Maintain updated inventory information for unique parts
• Attend New Product meetings (assisted by supervisor)
• Follow up on purchase orders placed with suppliers
• Track purchase orders and their assigned promise dates
• Ensure that critical parts identified are purchased as soon as possible
• Communicate with affected users when a critical part reaches zero inventory (Reaction Plan)
• Contact suppliers to resolve excess or shortage issues
